Ava August, the youngest person in the competition this season, decided to take a risk with her Showstopper performance and sing her original song, “Ghost Of You,” for Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. This isn’t Ava’s first time performing an original song for the judges; she auditioned for American Idol in San Diego with one, but some might say choosing to perform one for Showstoppers is the riskiest choice of them all.
