Ava August sings “City Of Stars” from the movie La La Land - American Idol 2021
Ava August is performing this song on our iconic American Idol stage in LA (LA Land), so it’s only fitting that she sings this gorgeous rendition of “City Of Stars” from the movie “La La Land” for Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan! Watch here to (once again) be in awe of Ava’s beauty, grace and talent!
Ava August performs Queen’s “Love Of My Life”
Ava August performs a lovely, classic and elegant rendition of Queen’s “Love Of My Life” for Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and guest American Idol judge, Paula Abdul!
Ava August sings Anne Marie’s “2002” - American Idol 2021
Ava August may not have been born yet in 2002, but she sings Anne-Marie’s hit song like she was! Constantly one-upping herself, Ava shows off her more upbeat, fun and “cool” side with this American Idol Top 16 performance. America loves Ava and we can see why!
Ava August Sings “Driver’s License” Solo + “Both Sides Now” Duet with Josh Groban - American Idol 2021
Powerful, emotional, moving; Ava August knows her musical strengths and plays to them on the American Idol stage for her Top 24 solo! Performing the 2021 hit song “Driver’s License” by Olivia Rodrigo, Ava stuns the judges with her “old soul” vibe. At just 15-years-old, Ava is definitely a force to be reckoned with!
Speaking of forces to be reckoned with, Ava August was paired with the one-and-only Josh Groban for her duet partner, and what a pair the two of them made! Beautifully complementing each other’s voices on stage, Ava and Josh sang Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now,” giving us a duet performance that will be hard to beat!
For Ava August's American Idol Showstopper performance she sings her original song “Ghost Of You”
Ava August, the youngest person in the competition this season, decided to take a risk with her Showstopper performance and sing her original song, “Ghost Of You,” for Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. This isn’t Ava’s first time performing an original song for the judges; she auditioned for American Idol in San Diego with one, but some might say choosing to perform one for Showstoppers is the riskiest choice of them all. Will it pay off and get Ava into the Top 24?
Hunter Metts and Ava August Duet of Robyn's “Dancing On My Own” - American Idol Hollywood Week
Hunter Metts and Ava August are extremely talented in their own right, so Luke Bryan advises them to “show biz it up” for their duet performance, making sure they don’t forget to “give us that BIG, powerful moment.” Hunter and Ava hit the stage to perform their rendition of “Dancing On My Own,” by Robyn, but do they go for that “big moment” Luke recommended, or leave it out and play it safe? Watch here to find out!
Laila Mach performs “Fix It To Break It,” and Ava August sings “We’re Going To Be Friends” - American Idol Hollywood Week
For two of the youngest people in the American Idol competition this year, Laila Mach and Ava August both carry confidence and talent that is far beyond their years! Laila feels she and Ava connect on a deeper level because they’ve both been singing since they were “really little.” Laila performs “Fix It To Break It” by Clinton Kane for Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, while Ava covers The White Stripes’ “We’re Going To Be Friends.” Watch here to experience the sound of two 15-year-olds who, to simply put it like Katy did, “don’t sound like they’re 15.”
Liv Grace Blue performs “I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry, and Ava August auditions with an original song called “Neighbor Boy”
They’re both from California, they’re both mega fans of Katy Perry, and they’re BOTH going to Hollywood! Ava August auditions for American Idol with an original song called “Neighbor Boy,” while Liv Grace Blue performs her rendition of “I Kissed A Girl,” by the one and only Katy Perry, for the judges. Liv becomes emotional when Katy tells her that she “sees something special in her;” something that reminds Katy of herself. Lionel Richie compliments Ava’s “old soul sound,” that he says “comes out very fresh.” Will we see a friendship begin to form between these two Californian Katy-lovers during Hollywood Week? Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
